MEET OUR OFFICERS

President: Arielle Sukhram

Arielle Sukhram is an undergraduate piano performance major and entrepreneurship minor at James Madison University. She is currently the choral accompanist for the JMU Treble Chamber Choir, and also serves as the pianist for Westside Baptist Church in Harrisonburg, VA. She has studied piano for 13 years and is a capable sight-reader and collaborative pianist. She was one of two freshman pianists from her studio chosen to participate in the Saarburg International Music Festival, a two week collaborative music festival held in Germany. She was recently accepted to present at the MTNA Collegiate Piano Pedagogy Symposium in January 2018.

Vice President: Claire Tan

Claire Tan is currently pursuing her B.M. Piano Performance degree from James Madison University as part of the Class of 2019. Having been classically trained since high school, she has participated in various local music competitions, and has also been an accompanist for school ensembles and community groups. In addition to being a solo performer, she is a collaborative pianist for instrumentalists and vocalists, as well as a piano teacher for students of all ages and skill levels. Outside of performance, she spends her time volunteering with local classical music workshops and children’s festivals, playing the piano for churches and retirement homes, and lovingly caring for toddlers and children.

Yawsameen Izadpanah

Yawsameen Izadpanah is an undergraduate piano performance major and entrepreneurship minor at James Madison University. She has always been involved with music, participating in various choirs, marching bands, and pit orchestras in addition to her piano playing. However, she also has experience with digital media. For four years, she maintained the website of her school's Interact Club, a branch of Rotary International dedicated to volunteering. She is constantly looking for ways to combine her interests and is excited to be a part of MTNA.

Project Manager: Rachel Napierskie

Rachel Napierskie is an undergraduate pianist from Dover, Pennsylvania who is majoring in music education and minoring in music industry here at James Madison University. She is also a member of the JMU Marching Royal Dukes and was the secretary of JMU's Keyboard Association during the 2017-2018 school year. When not practicing, Rachel enjoys painting and petting dogs. She also loves traveling and recently visited Europe!
